Who we are
The association has seen a steady increase in its membership in the last few years due to increased interest, technological and medical advances, and the expansion of the radiology training opportunities. There are residency programmes; at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH), at the Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) and at the University of Nairobi School of Medicine (UON).
With 100 members and 50 associate members, the societies core functions are advocacy, policy formulation and education. The society works closely with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Council, The Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Union as well as the Kenya Medical Association to serve the health care needs of the general public ensuring quality and safety through policy regulation and legislation.
KAR provides professional support to its members and also coordinates scientific, professional and educational activities collaborating with fellow international societies such as the European Society of Radiology and the American College of Radiology.
